and take a step backwards? I don't think Koivu is a changing piece... only injuries, hot streaks and slumps will effect his value, actual player has been the same for a few years, and has some term left.... only other option is paying too much in pieces that have short-term gains coming or are currently on short-term low's; this is IMO how you get yourself (not you Scott, speaking in general) in a downwards cycle...
