Not really..

One is just the mid way point and an easy to identify day.

The other give enough time for any lingering signings to trickle through and also gives those who can't be on immediately after the waiver draft to grab players as well at a specific time.

Setting a consistent draft day , such as June 1st, should also be discussed. Same with a waiver draft date such a Sept 1st.

If we are setting consistent days for the drafts I would be more in support of the "1st Saturday in June/September" approach rather than the locked in numerical date.

I agree with this for both the Entry and Waiver draft, as more people will be free on a Saturday than on the weekdays. How long before the season begins does the waiver draft typically take place?

It was right at the end of September last year. But if memory serves correctly it was a bit of a scramble to get it in as well as roster locks, as well as free agency in before the start of the season. But I think its good to have it after training camp starts. Gives you a little more evaluation period on potential pick ups. 3rd Saturday in September would be my vote.

Waiver draft was held on September 20th last year. So yea 3rd Saturday would be pretty in line with that.

so the NHL with their bunch of lawyers does have places where opinion is a key part of their decisions, but we in BBKL should not?

Lee wroteCOLONI really don't feel like typing that all up again.

Short form:

We should be able to dress a compliant roster, regardless of any perceived motive.
If you can prove than an NHL goalie is active, you should be able to dress him in a single goalie situation.
If a change is to be made, I propose it be made to the minimum amount of GP required.
this would be useless.

it wouldn't prevent blatant tanking, so what purpose would this 'rule' accomplish other than make you happy?

What window does it leave open? It clearly states that if you can prove that they are an active NHL goalie, you can dress them in a single goalie situation.

Khudobin was an active NHL goalie. Darling was an active NHL goalie.
thx for proving the point: it leaves window open for blatant tanking

so we are going to re-discuss everything, even the things we accomplished in the past and that have been working just fine?

On a lighter note I think it be cool to have a trophy and the winner has it for a year and be a douche and post selfies with it, etc. Also if you really want to prevent tanking league winner picks a tattoo and the last place finishing team has to get it.....boom problem solved. What else do I need to fix?

There was no date that I know about, and if there is it isnt in the CBA. It seemed like you guys were just making up random dates.

100% on board with the formation of a trophy idea. And will financially contribute to it.

A trophy would be cool. Also, maybe have a league championship banner somewhere on the bbkl main page, to create more history and perhaps make winning the championship feel more important. Maybe that prevents bbkl Playoff ghost town to some extent?
